Kokerakyo is made by cutting thin pieces of cedar or cypress.Peel it off,Cut into pieces about 2cm wide and 30cm long.Thin plateThe front and back of these porcelains have sutras and other texts written in ink. They have been made since the end of the Heian period, and this piece is dated to the Kamakura period.

thisJingwas originally a spiral of several thousand wooden blocks with an entire volume of scripture copied onto it. The text is part of the Lotus Sutra (Myoho Renge Kyo), so it is easy to imagine that there were a huge number of wooden blocks. The Myoho Renge Kyo is one of the most important scriptures in Buddhism, and is considered especially important as the fundamental scripture in the Tendai and Nichiren sects.
