I sat on the sofa
Bisque doll
I have a feeling that something is about to begin.

The sitting posture of a bisque doll is so cute. I hadn't really thought much about it other than that it's cute, but perhaps the appeal is in the way it makes you feel like something is about to start or finish before or after the sitting posture.

Bisque dolls were popular among the ladies and young ladies of 19th century Europe. They are broadly classified into three types: "yotsukatu" dolls that can sit, "tekatu" dolls that can only move their hands and stand upright, and "sleepy eye" dolls that can blink their eyes.

One day, my wife sat this bisque doll on a mini sofa that we had purchased separately and looked at it. Sitting on the sofa with her legs spread, the bisque doll looked blank and out of focus, and giggled as she said, "Doesn't it look like something is about to start?" It all made sense to me that she might have sensed something like a "premonition" hidden in the sitting position, a sort of depth of time. Since then, the combination of this sofa and bisque doll has become my "premonition set." Taking an intermediate position between sitting on the ground and standing up, it exudes a "premonition" that something is about to begin.
