天保5年に発行された「伊勢暦（いせごよみ）」に、縞木綿のハギレが貼り付けられている。いわゆる「縞帳」は、農家の女性たちが手近な大福帳をリサイクルするなどして縞模様のキレを隙間なく貼り付けることが多いが、この一冊はどういうわけか、蛇腹のカレンダーにびっしりとキレを貼り込んでいる。大福帳などの和綴じノートが手元になかっただけなのか、謎は深まるばかり。制作時期は、カレンダーとしての役目を終えた天保5年以降から江戸末期にかけて、であろうか。 Pieces of striped cotton are pasted on the "Ise-Goyomi (Ise Calendar)" published in 5th year of Tempo, 1894. So-called "Shimacho" is often made by farm women who recycle their handy Daifuku-cho notebooks and paste striped patterns, but for some reason, the stripes in this one are pasted tightly onto the calendar. The mystery only deepens as to whether the artist simply did not have a Daifuku-cho or any other notebook on hand. The production period was assumed therefore after 1894 to the end of the Edo period.
