When I trace the source of beautiful forms, they always lead me back to the world of the sacred.
— Seiji Onishi

This book presents a remarkable collection of vintage aluminium objects assembled by industrial designer Seiji Onishi, inviting readers to discover the quiet beauty of form through the material itself.

In nature, there are no unnecessary forms, no names, and no artificial colours.

The aluminium objects presented in this book have been stripped of everything that conceals the material itself. The stains, patina, and traces of history so highly prized in the world of antiques have been carefully washed away. Nameplates have been removed, paint has been stripped, and anodized finishes have been peeled away, revealing aluminium in its purest, most essential form.
