A pre-war hand toy.
It looks like she's about to stick out her tongue
Paper snake from Sumiyoshi.
A long time ago, my parents found a snake's shed skin in their garden.RespectfullyI framed it and displayed it in my home. I think it was said at the time that it would bring good luck with money.
Although it is not a very popular snake in the world,It is also a lucky charm.I've loved Sumiyoshi's Kamihebi ever since a senior antique dealer gave it to me (I sold it), but it's a rare item that I've just never been able to find. I know it's a hand-play toy that originated in Osaka before the war, but there isn't much published documentation, so these days almost no one even knows about Kamihebi. I finally managed to get hold of it recently, and have been storing it carefully in a box to keep it from getting crushed, but every time I open the box I'm shocked. It's so well made that you could mistake it for a real snake.
It was accompanied by a soft rubber fake egg.Fake eggs areThese are eggs that look just like the real thing and are used to control egg laying in birds such as chickens and parakeets. What is the relationship between paper snakes and fake eggs?
