Rousseau taught me this.
Even though there are obvious rules
It is by no means something to be taken for granted.

There is a piece of art that is like a comfort to me, and just seeing it makes me feel at ease. And whenever I have the opportunity, I want to see the painting by Henri Rousseau (1844-1910)Liberty Inviting Artists To Take Part In The 22nd Exhibition Of The Society Of Independent Artists To seeThe National Museum of Modern Art, TokyoI try to go there.

When I confront Rousseau's work, the word "rules" comes to mind. Perhaps it is because Rousseau made me realize that the rules I had taken for granted were not necessarily so. The order in which paints were layered, the colors arranged on the palette, the way scales were measured, and even the way perspective was approached. I began to question the things I had been taught as normal.

In the beautiful city of Paris, which had been arranged by Georges-Eugène Haussmann (1809-1891), Rousseau may have seemed out of place at first glance. However, this was only for a moment, and it did not take long for Picasso and the rest of the world to become fascinated by his genius.

I think Rousseau was also someone who built his own rules through observation and learning. So when you know the laws of his rules, they all make sense.

He weaves seemingly different colors into a grid that is in sync with the rest of the design. Like Rousseau, he follows his own rules that he learned from those around him.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects. Saint Francis of Assisi, Atsuko Suga, Leo Lionni and Tokujiro Kojima, Bernard of Chartres, Tintoretto, Dante, Giotto, Seiichi Shirai, Sotatsu Tawaraya, William Morris, Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Montaner, Michelangelo, Hermes, Diotima, Barbara Sansoni, Hergé, Hiroshi Yoshino, Rousseau, Frederick II, Simone Weil, Aldo Manuzio, Picasso, and the man from the Masdazil Cave. The messages that accompany each work, detailing encounters with each person, are also quite interesting.
