Hergé (1907-1983) is associated with a sense of enchantment. This feeling is a memory accumulated from childhood. It is a faint, melting feeling of longing that one feels before one can understand it as a concept.

The Adventures of Tintin, which I first encountered as a child Adventures of Tintin" had a special feeling that was different from Japanese manga.At that timeI couldn't understand the details of the setting or the story,For me, having grown up in a small rural town,Filled with justice and love, Tintin was special.

It was kind of exciting. That's the feeling I got. It was different from understanding knowledge or concepts. I think being able to sense something that emanates from the whole is what is necessary for the initial steps of making something.

I replaced the paper samples I usually use in my design work with new ones, and the old ones were finished. I was about to throw them away, but then my childhood emotions screamed out, "Wait a minute!" Now I can play with paper together, I thought. I used the paper samples from the "Tanto" that had joined my favorite stock and made a "The Adventures of TintinI tried knitting the first color of each of the six volumes of "The Magical Girl." Now, the fun begins.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects.
