Hermes.

I first encountered Hermes (Twelve Olympians) when I was in high school.Hermes of Praxiteles It was a plaster statue of Hermes of Praxiteles.

Since then, he has encountered different forms of Hermes in various places he travels. He is loved by everyone, is efficient, and has dexterity with his hands, so he is well known as the god of many things. He is the god of wealth and happiness, commerce, messengers, theft... and also as the god of travel.

Hermes, who I have drawn, looked at, and touched countless times and who has been my companion in learning to draw, has become a part of my travels, and I look for him at every destination I travel to, wishing him a good trip. Before I knew it, he had become like a companion on my journey. When I see him in an unfamiliar place, I feel a sense of security, as if I have encountered an old friend, and I can't help but say hello.

The landmarks are the winged hat (Pétasos) and the magic staff with two snakes (Caduceus). Caduceus), and winged sandals (Talaria/Talaaria) These are three pieces. The paper is woven with three eye-catching points, like Hermes, whom I encountered on my travels. The slightly peeled gold leaf gives a glimpse of his dignity as an ancient Greek god.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects. Saint Francis of Assisi, Atsuko Suga, Leo Lionni and Tokujiro Kojima, Bernard of Chartres, Tintoretto, Dante, Giotto, Seiichi Shirai, Sotatsu Tawaraya, William Morris, Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Montaner, Michelangelo, Hermes, Diotima, Barbara Sansoni, Hergé, Hiroshi Yoshino, Rousseau, Frederick II, Simone Weil, Aldo Manuzio, Picasso, and the man from the Masdazil Cave. The messages that accompany each work, detailing encounters with each person, are also quite interesting.
