The world changes depending on how you read it.
The winds of hope blow,
The rain of salvation falls.

I think it's a miracle to come across a poem that supports you in life.

When I encountered the poem "Eyes, Sky, Love" by Hiroshi Yoshino (1926-2014), I felt like I had encountered an indescribable mystery that exists between the body and the mind. I was simply moved. What a beautiful world I had encountered.

I assert
Because there was something worth seeing
The eyes were created.

The bright sky that I vaguely sense
Trying to see clearly
A part of the skin gradually turns into a transparent lens.
I picture the changes

Now I declare
Beautiful things
Shot by the love of your eyes
As it becomes more beautiful

The eyes of my lover, beautifully carved
If you have
You will accept my assertion.

-- "Eyes, Sky, Love" by Hiroshi Yoshino

Seeing, that is, loving and feeling the world in front of me, is something I focused on training myself on from my teens to my early twenties. Rather than how to create, I focused on how to see.
Looking back, it was probably a good thing that I was able to devote time to such simple things.

However, people gradually begin to see a different reality. Changing your perspective to fit the world can sometimes be cruel. In the midst of all this, I came across this poem, and I still reread it whenever I have the chance. Poetry knows how to save people.

The world, beauty, and poetry may not be immediately understandable, but we still want to take the time to look at them.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects. Saint Francis of Assisi, Atsuko Suga, Leo Lionni and Tokujiro Kojima, Bernard of Chartres, Tintoretto, Dante, Giotto, Seiichi Shirai, Sotatsu Tawaraya, William Morris, Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Montaner, Michelangelo, Hermes, Diotima, Barbara Sansoni, Hergé, Hiroshi Yoshino, Rousseau, Frederick II, Simone Weil, Aldo Manuzio, Picasso, and the man from the Masdazil Cave. The messages that accompany each work, detailing encounters with each person, are also quite interesting.
