Continues beyond the small window
A happy painting.
I wanted to be Bonnard.
"I want to be Bonnard" was my childhood dream.
I pondered what I should do to become like Bonnard, studied art and design, continued to draw copies of Bonnard (Pierre Bonnard/1867-1947), attended exhibitions whenever there were any, and continued to look at art books.
I think I may have taken a long detour. When I was in elementary school, I tried my best to copy something.watercolor I only learned that it was a print, not a painting, after I had drawn and struggled with it many times. I went down the path of design because I wanted to make posters like Bonnard, but I was depressed because it was not easy to find that kind of work.
Still, I don't think that my efforts up until now have been in vain, and I still practice alternately looking at Bonnard's paintings and the scenery, trying to grasp the ideas that Bonnard saw. If I could become Bonnard, if I could borrow his eyes, that feeling wouldn't change.
If you take a peek, you will see the happy world of painting weaving a window before your eyes. Through that window, decorated with the yellow of life that Bonnard loved, you can dream of becoming Bonnard one day.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects. Saint Francis of Assisi, Atsuko Suga, Leo Lionni and Tokujiro Kojima, Bernard of Chartres, Tintoretto, Dante, Giotto, Seiichi Shirai, Sotatsu Tawaraya, William Morris, Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Montaner, Michelangelo, Hermes, Diotima, Barbara Sansoni, Hergé, Hiroshi Yoshino, Rousseau, Frederick II, Simone Weil, Aldo Manuzio, Picasso, and the man from the Masdazil Cave. The messages that accompany each work, detailing encounters with each person, are also quite interesting.
