For anything,
There is a comfortable place.
Like Tintoretto.

At exhibitions related to Venice held in Japan, Tintoretto's works are always on display.Tintoretto / To be honest, I didn't like the paintings of Tintoretto (1518-1594). In terms of skill and charm, Titian seemed to me to be superior, and I found Tintoretto's paintings always dark and gloomy, which I found hard to believe were the colors of the Venetian Renaissance.

The idea is in VeniceChurch of Madonna dell'Orto My thoughts completely changed when I visited the Madonna dell'Orto (Chiesa della Madonna dell'Orto). Although I wasn't supposed to like his work, I became interested in Tintoretto as a person after learning about him through books, and I wanted to visit the place where he loved, dedicated his work to, and where he still rests today.

In Japan, it has become commonplace to view Western paintings in art museums. It struck me at the time that this was not the way to approach Tintoretto's paintings, at least.

It should be obvious that a painting is most beautiful in the light in the place where it should be displayed, but it's scary to think that I would never have noticed this if I hadn't experienced it. Not just works of art, everything has a place to be. That is the place where it looks most beautiful and comfortable. In order to remember the scene of Tintoretto's painting on that wall of the church, I decided to replicate that moment, which I cannot take home, on a piece of paper.

Rivotorto Pieces will hold their first solo exhibition, "Passage of Paper Textile". The works are named after the two artists' ancestors whom they have admired since childhood. They feature people from all over the world, past and present, such as saints, picture book authors, and architects. Saint Francis of Assisi, Atsuko Suga, Leo Lionni and Tokujiro Kojima, Bernard of Chartres, Tintoretto, Dante, Giotto, Seiichi Shirai, Sotatsu Tawaraya, William Morris, Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard, Montaner, Michelangelo, Hermes, Diotima, Barbara Sansoni, Hergé, Hiroshi Yoshino, Rousseau, Frederick II, Simone Weil, Aldo Manuzio, Picasso, and the man from the Masdazil Cave. The messages that accompany each work, detailing encounters with each person, are also quite interesting.
