Seeds of Hope.

This book named "Seeds of Hope" is a typewritten work on hand-dyed cotton paper, quoting "words of hope" written by great people such as Martin Luther King, Jr, Helen Keller, Emily Dickinson, Albert Einstein, Thich Nhat Hanh, etc. typewritten on hand-dyed cotton paper. The work was created in the year 2021, when society as a whole was enveloped in an atmosphere of gloom and anxiety due to the coronavirus and Black Lives Matter.
The artist is Erica Rasmussen, an American artist who makes paper garments and hand-bound books. Her father-in-law was a potter who attended Pottery, the kiln opened by Bernard Leach and potter Shoji Hamada. Although the details are not known, Shoji Hamada and Leach, who founded the Mingei (folk art) movement with Muneyoshi Yanagi and Kanjiro Kawai, opened the first Japanese-style climbing kiln and workshop in the West in 1920 in St. Ives, Cornwall, England. Perhaps influenced by her father-in-law, who worked hard in the Leach studio that produced many potters, Hamada Shoji has an extraordinary interest in Japanese Mingei (folk art), and her book "Seeds of Hope" has the appearance of a piece of folk art born from the earth and returned to the earth.

There are two types: S size and M size. This item is the S size. Because it is handmade, each piece has a different texture.
